Oqood
Also known as: Interim registration · Pre-title registration
Oqood is the initial sale contract registered with the DLD for off-plan property. It acts as your proof of ownership until the title deed is issued at handover.
Oqood is the Arabic word for contract. In Dubai real estate, it refers to the DLD's interim registration system for off-plan sales.
When you buy an off-plan unit, the developer registers your sale contract with the DLD through the Oqood platform. You receive an Oqood certificate.
The Oqood is your legal proof of ownership during construction. When the building is handed over, the Oqood is converted into a full title deed.
If you transfer or resell your off-plan unit before handover, the new buyer's details are registered on the Oqood.
